Designing a connected barbecue
22 May 2017 – Utrecht
The Internet of Things offers a lot of possibilities for everyday products. In a barbecue, IoT could measure and control elements that are currently hard to control for many people. But when technology takes over, can one still feel proud about the result?
Sietse will discuss some of the insights from his graduation project at info.nl where he explored the potential of IoT for the barbecue experience. With research through design, the balance between technology and user autonomy was analyzed.
Sietse Taams is an Industrial Designer with a passion for software. He recently graduated at the TU Delft doing the ‘Design for Interaction’ master program. Currently he is looking into job opportunities that ask for meaningful and tangible product-software combinations.
